Sept 26, 2009. The most unforgettable date for us people living in the Philippines.
It was raining when I woke up, and I thought that it's just a normal rainy day... never thought that the rain that poured that day is already equivalent to a month's average rain fall.

After feeding my son, I logged in to facebook, and asked my friends what's the name of the typhoon, a friend answered me, then I watched the news to know more about the weather forecast... I then learned that Manila is only experiencing signal number 1, but the rain's pouring so damn hard that I could not imagine what will happen to my family in valenzuela if it will not stop raining. I was able to talk to my lola from lunch time until 3:00 in the afternoon, I was telling her to charge her cellphone and laptop, asked her to stay with me until she can so that I know what is happening in their area. During lunchtime, the flood level is almost knee high in our garage. After our chat I no longer had the chance to check them. I texted them but they did not reply... I just got informations thru FB friends who live near our house. At around 6pm I texted my sister how is she... I was really bothered during this time as I learned that Metro Manila is really submerged! I texted my sister that she has to stay indoors, keep safe and wait for the rain to stop and the flood water to subside atleast knee deep. Then she can come over to my place or I will pick her up which way is easier. Come evening, the rain still hasn't stop pouring, and it still hitting so hard! The whole metro manila and other neighboring provinces is experiencing too much rain, streets are all flooded, 2 storey houses were submerged to flood, dams release mor water, cars floating everywhere... the metro is so chaotic. I cannot calm myself.

First Day

My first day at work is not that exciting, it is actually boring. I just waited for hours in a quiet room, waiting for somebody to talk to me and practically orient me on how things work inside the company. After hours of waiting, I got my chance to finally talk to the HR assistant, she made me read the NEO book and the Handbook of policies et al. Then, my Company ID was issued before I had my lunch break so I can roam around the area without leaving my SSS ID to the guard on duty.

There are a lot of things that I do not like with the company, oh well... I think I am not happy with my decision... There's this thing that I do not like the most, like when they asked me to have my medical exam, they made me pay for the whole amount and this afternoon when I personally opened my payroll account at BDO, they even asked me to hand in 100 peso just so they could open an account for me. I have never encountered this before, not even when I applied for my first job... So now I am thinking of how in the world am I going to motivate myself to work. To do my job and to perform good... hay.... I wish I will just spend my entire life playing with my son...

Register Now!

Today, I was able to visit the local comelec office in our place and finally got myself registered to be able to vote on the upcoming 2010 national and local elections. I am actually still hesitant to register, why? because I really doubt if my vote will be counted, I always think that "pandaraya" during elections will always happen... But my mom and also hubby insisted that I should still register and vote even though I have false hope for our economy, for our country.

I can now vote after about 20 minutes of stay at the comelec office... Yes it is that quick! haha I think I am lucky to not fall in line for such a long time. ;)

For you guys out there who still haven't registered yet, you can go out and visit the nearest comelec office in your place. The comelec office is open Mon-Sat, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. including Holidays!!! Registration will be ongoing until Oct. 31, 2009. and Oh! bring Valid ID's ;)

Super Rainy day

Even though it is raining cats and dogs, it still doesn't stop me to go out and leave the house. I really need to secure all my requirements so that I can submit it on time. So, I went out to get my Mayor's Health Permit but unfortunately the hard rain pour resulted to heavy traffic... It was already 3 in the afternoon when I reached the Municipal's office and guess what? I thought I am all set to have my permit that moment, but I was wrong. There's still some other stuff that I have to present to be able to get that effin permit. Oh well! Such a nice experience.

After that trip, My mom called and asked me if we can meet up... After the call, there I was from Bacoor to SM Valenzuela, talk about ends to ends haha! We had early dinner and a few chit chat, my brother was also there which made me happy. ;)

I went home at around 7pm and got to see my little happy bongbong by 9m. ;)

Still happy after all the rain and traffic.

Deployment date moved...

Last Saturday, after waiting for 2 hours, the HRD decided that I will start reporting to work after I have completed submitting all the requirements that they needed. I also have to update my surname, yes I still haven't changed my surname (from Grafil to Castronuevo) on all of my id's. I will have to renew my NBI, will have to go to SSS for a new ID, will still check on how to get a new ID from PHIC and Pag-Ibig and so on... Hay, I also need to secure a Mayor's Health permit from Bacoor Municipal Office, and a drug test... And the worst thing in here is I will be the one paying for the test and permit!!! My goodness. I hope I can do all of these in a day.

Working Mom... again.

Starting Monday, September 7, 2009, I will be officially employed, again. Even though the day is declared to be Natl. Day of Mourning, I will still have to go to work since SM knows no holiday. And I feel sad about it.

Though I am still in the process of completing my pre-emloyment requirements, I am now as good as hired... Which makes me wonder a lot...why I haven't seen my contract? they haven't discuss my compensation package or any and all I know is my basic pay and my work shift which is a 9am-6pm, Mon-Sat shift.

Now, I feel half hearted, as I will have to leave my son everyday to be able to work. My mother and MIL will take shifts on taking care of my son. They have both agreed with it, but I don't know until when are they gonna be able to do it. I feel sad, but I don't have a choice because I need to work to be able to help my husband pay the bills and save for our kid's future. I need to work and earn earn earn...

The challenge will start on Monday, the challenge to keep a balanced family and work life.
